Ashiana, Bangalore : Independent Houses : Completed Projects
Bangalore architects, IDEA Centre Architects have introduced a design concept that incorporates cylindrical forms creates interesting spaces, volumes and junctions externally and internally. The juxtaposition of circular and cylindrical form leads to assembly of the ‘pile of cylinders’.
The building is lifted up by five feet above the ground to the space for basement floor that houses parking and servant’s cottage. The habitable spaces are spread over the ground and first floors. The vault roofs above dining and bedroom areas create multi levels that facilitate sky lights between them. The sky lights are provided with etched and stained glasses imposed with patterns and colors. The huge circular window in front of the dining area is flanked on the either sides by water spouts.
